"The greatest testimony of love is the ability to agree to disagree without being disagreeable for the sake of the relationship, thus elevating the value of the relationship above that of the individuals opinion."

Have you ever agreed to disagree with someone on a subject and then let the subject go? Do you have to argue a point until someone, yourself or the other person(s) submits? Do you consider something like this to be valuable to a relationship?

Whaday think?

My oh my. I am notorious for arguing untill I win. I try not to get myself into arguments, but I just HAVE to make my point known.

In a relationship, this is key. Most divorces happen because one will not agree to disagree. Arguments get to the point where the other person cannot stand their spouse. It is VITALLY important if you are truly in love.

I'm glad you posted this. It has shed some new light on some of my situations.

Idk... I tend to argue things to death with most people. Dom's about the only one I will agree to disagree with lol.

Most of the time... I beat the dead horse to dust

I like to agree to disagree and then keep discussing the subject in a polite and civil manner. It's good to examine the other side of the debate. I've learned much in these types of conversations, and I really value what all I've learned from them. Most of the time I realize that I never really have examined the other side decently, and occasionally I even discover a flaw in my own argument. The opposite has happened too, where I've helped a friend see a flaw in her argument as well.

As my own personal motto states: True knowledge is not in having all the right answers. It's in having all the right questions.

I for one sorta do like to argue my point. Not get hostile or angry though. I used to be known for arguing on ctf a lot o.O After a while if the same facts are given and the whole subject isnt really budging then I let it go.There is no point in the other person and I arguing over a subject and not getting anywhere. Like Noel I find myself finding a flaw in my arguments too at times. Then I realize that what I was arguing for wasnt what I really should have been arguing about or I find that I was actually arguing on the wrong side.
