If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible.
Leviticus 5:1

I have a friend who emails a bible verse as led by the spirit each day. It's her ministry. This was the verse she mailed out a few days ago. It shook me hard and I've been thinking about it quite a bit.
I read this and I see a couple of things:
1) if we don't speak up about Christ, although we are forgiven by the Lord, we are held responsible
2) If our friend, family member, is in sin and we don't talk to them about it, if we don't try to help bring them to a place of repentance, we are held responsible
3) and the more worldly perspective - we are required to help the authorities (school, church, police officers, etc) when we see something that is sinful, against the rules, and/or illegal with our testimony.
ooohhh yuck. I know personally I would prefer to hide out and keep my nose in my own business rather than risk making enemies. God says otherwise, though. We're supposed to stick our neck out or be held responsible by God. I, personally, would rather be a friend to God and an enemy to other people, then the other way around.
What do you think of this verse?
